Not happy with the precendence levels of trackbacks and pingbacks, this user offers up some core code hacking to make trackbacks take precenence over pingbacks. Not that I’ve really figured it out myself, and I know I read a post in the forums stating that there was something funky with the order, but alas, if you simply want trackbacks to be sent first, here’s how. (Note: anytime you edit core code, you should always backup the file, and keep a journal of any types of changes, mostly when upgrading, you’ll know what’s different, or if something goes wonky, you’ll know how to revert back)

An elightning article for those who are still stepping outside the template tags of WordPress and into the more, PHP based coding possible in your templates. Definitely not for the beginner, and I’d love to see more of these type of posts.
