If you haven’t noticed by the design colors of this site, I’m fond of green, so when I came across this new WP theme, I was excited! Well done right handed, two-column theme, with just a touch of graphics. Personally, I’d use a little more contrast between the blog and the background, but that may just be me. A lot of effort was put into the comments section, something my recent work has taught me is a bit of a task in of itself, to say the least. Definitely worth checking out.

This theme was originally released sometime ago, and I lost touch with it’s development. It’s now at beta 5, with what appears to be many changes. One I noticed right away was a smaller header graphic. It’s been about a month since this release, but I think the theme is such a promising part of the community, I wanted to point out it’s still being developed, and worth a look if you haven’t checked it out in a while.

A narrow, two column design, with, you guessed it, a nice Photoshopped header of leaves and grass with flower accents. Bright red is the predominant color, including the header, but it contrasts nicely with the white and blue-ish black of the background. I’m not a fan of the left alignment, as larger screen resolutions don’t center. Not a lot of fancy styling, but there’s plenty of room for customization. An interesting choice to detach the right handed side bar from the content. This theme was also just added to the choices over at wordpress.com

The popular and talented WP theme designer Beccary has released a revamped version of an old design, purple turtle.
The current theme sports a couple of fish in the upper right corner (that can be swapped out) a deep plum color scheme, with fantastic graphics as usual. It’s a two column design, with a right hand sidebar.
While your visiting, check out the other themes that is offered at the site. All quality work.

Going through my “to posts” bookmarks from my sabbatical, I found this theme that I missed posting about. It’s now at v1.1.1. A clean, two column theme with a left hand sidebar, this theme is also offers some customization via an options panel. Intended by the authors for those

who just want to get on with writing and don’t have time to learn web development first

.

Also included are several header images to help with some personalization via the options panel.

Worth a look for sure.

Well, I’ve totally neglected this site for the last 3 weeks…anyway, figured the best way to kick things back into gear is to announce a theme I’ve redone over at my personal blog. The theme was released last year, but was a single file basically. I’ve split the index into header, footer, sidebar, and index, as well as added a single.php, and several other templates. I’ve updated the graphics, as well as added a .psd file for easy addition of your own images to the header. A two column, left hand sidebar theme.

A sharp new theme from jtk consulting, inspired by what I can only imagine is an “eye opening” beverage. A two column, left hand sidebar design intended for one of the theme competitions out there, it sports some very eye catching design elements. Good luck to them in their competition, and thanks for sharing. Definitely worth a look.
