Not happy with the precendence levels of trackbacks and pingbacks, this user offers up some core code hacking to make trackbacks take precenence over pingbacks. Not that I’ve really figured it out myself, and I know I read a post in the forums stating that there was something funky with the order, but alas, if you simply want trackbacks to be sent first, here’s how. (Note: anytime you edit core code, you should always backup the file, and keep a journal of any types of changes, mostly when upgrading, you’ll know what’s different, or if something goes wonky, you’ll know how to revert back)

Can’t quite figure out if this is a recent update or not, but looks like a useful plugin nonetheless. Allows to seperate out easily via plugin your track/ping backs from your comments. Does require quite a bit of template hacking, but probably for those who would most benefit from the plugin in it’s not that big of a deal.
