Post Avatar

For those of you who have visited recently, and seen the the new (almost finished) design here at WP Station, you may have noticed the images for each post. This has been achieved using the Post Avatar plugin, which was recently updated. I haven’t tested the current version, but know I will upgrade to see what’s new under the hood. I’ve seen this requested numerous times in the forums, and this was the easiest way of achieving the desired effect.

Post Avatar 1.0

Garinungkadol

A new plugin that allows easy addition of images to your posts, without having to upload the image each time you post. The plugin allows for preloaded images to be added to your posts from the write post page, and can even have thumbnailed images when writing posts. A great way of having either author images for posts, or category images for posts.

Coding Images in Posts

Andy Skeleton
Andy has posted a short tutorial for theme creators on effectively coding images in posts so not to break the design in IE 6, something often over looked in theme development (myself included).
For those not in the know, Andy is one of the brilliant minds behind the new Sandbox theme, and has incorporated many forward thinking ideas into it, this being just one of many.

Popup Image Gallery WordPress Plugin

Yellow Swordfish

It’s been quite tough to keep up with all the new releases of plugins, themes, and general WP news, but this is one plugin that I’ve used on a project in the past, and was quite happy with. So I’m even more excited to see it upgraded to 3.0. Even with a finicky host, the plugin was not too difficult to get a gallery set up, which allows for a viewer to simply mouse over a thumbnail for a larger image. Many improvements announced by the author, and you can be sure I’ll be quick to check them out. You should too.
