Folks over at Scary Little Monkey have released the theme they are using on the site. An interesting approach to displaying date and post meta and some AJAXy goodness to boot, this theme is in essence a two column design. I especially like the drop down about, and am looking at incorporating the idea into a popup for the tags in this site’s theme.

Dagon Design continues to update their plugin to generate a sitemap. Not to be confused with a google sitemap generator, which is strictly XML, this plugin actually produces a navigable sitemap from your archives. A much easier approach to an archives than hacking through template tags and creating custom page templates.

Going through my “to posts” bookmarks from my sabbatical, I found this theme that I missed posting about. It’s now at v1.1.1. A clean, two column theme with a left hand sidebar, this theme is also offers some customization via an options panel. Intended by the authors for those
who just want to get on with writing and don’t have time to learn web development first
.
Also included are several header images to help with some personalization via the options panel.
Worth a look for sure.

WordPress and the annoying rewrite rules at Troidus
Found a solution via Matt Read to allow customization of your .htaccess file, ala WP 1.5.x It does require the changing of a core file, so if you do try this, make sure you keep a note of the file and what you changed, both in case of upgrading, or in case something goes wrong.

not quite the same vein as the built in calendar, this plugin provides an at a glance view of your blog posts for an entire year. Doesn’t require too much screen-estate, and could be handy in many situations, CMS comes to mind.

Undersigned has quite the nifty WordPress theme viewer going on over at his site, via the Live Theme Preview On the fly screenshots, commenting, voting, downloads, about all you could ask for in a theme site. Definitely the place to head when looking for a new look.

Well, I’ve totally neglected this site for the last 3 weeks…anyway, figured the best way to kick things back into gear is to announce a theme I’ve redone over at my personal blog. The theme was released last year, but was a single file basically. I’ve split the index into header, footer, sidebar, and index, as well as added a single.php, and several other templates. I’ve updated the graphics, as well as added a .psd file for easy addition of your own images to the header. A two column, left hand sidebar theme.

Been quite busy paying the bills, so expect a slew of updates the next day or so. If you’ve emailed me with a project, I promise to get it up soon as possible. Thanks always for letting me know about new projects.

Podz’s outstanding WP how-tos have been updated. Possibly more useful to the average WP user than the “official” documents, the how-tos cover trouble spots such as working with PHPmyadmin and the database, upgrading, and many other useful, easy to follow guides. A must have bookmark for even seasoned WP users.
